Well, I now have someone who will unconditionally wear anything I knit. Of course, he or she won't be here until February 15, 2010. (Not that anyone is counting, that is 30 weeks 4 days from now. Must be the obstetrician in me.) I guess lots of yellow and green yarn until we know the sex.

How wonderful! Congratulations! I'd personally shoot for black, white, red, royal blue, etc. I like bright, bold colors on babies.

Bill, You know, of course, that the biggest reason for having children yourself is that they eventually produce grandchildren for you, the ultimate customer. I like bright colors, too.

Have you seen the new book of baby knits that they reviewed on mason dixon knitting? It seems to have great patterns, after all every baby needs an elvis wig,and a cow costume compleat with a hat with horns. Congrats to you, may they be happy, healthy, and unconcerned about what they wear for a long time.

Congrats, Bill on becoming a Grandpa (soon anyway!!). If you go about it right, the little person will eventually ask you to knit things for them, especially if you make things they like in the first place, but then I'm sure all your knitting is in good taste. Smiler

SmilerCongratulations Bill!!! Just have to do the old joke that the worst thing about being a Gramma is having to sleep with a Grampa. My best advice is to start their Afghan NOW!! Then you do not have to Knit Catch-up..... Grandchildren a SO great...Enjoy. Grace, Love and Prayers. God Bless.

Congratulations, Bill! Opal used to have beautiful bright colorways that would be fine for a boy or girl, if you're willing to knit fingering wt.
