I got an unexpected bonus at work, and spent some of it on new books! I got all 5 of Barbara Walkers Treasuries from Schoolhouse Press. I am so pumped. I have the lace swatches done, but I figure I can use them for my cable swatches and use the Mosaic one for the next level, along with any other "knitter's choice" swatches I might need to do later. So this made me wonder, what have you ever gotten with a windfall? Or what would you get if given the chance? It doesn't have to be knitting related (although I can't imagine what else there is! ) In 2007, I won two tickets to a Steeler's game and sold them to pay for the Master's Level 1 that I did last year. That was more fun than freezing my tush off in December!

Diana, congratulations on a wise choice! I love all of my Barbara Walker books--several of which are signed, lucky me, and one of which is so well used that the pages are falling out. Haven't had any great windfalls lately but this was a wonderful way to spend one.
Last thing I spent a windfall on (last year's income tax return) was a Kromski Sonata. Last thing I bought with totally unexpected money (a bonus) was my dog--13 years ago.
First, congrats on the bonus! It feels great to be appreciated, doesn't it?
I'd put 1/2 away for the "future", whatever that becomes. Then I'd find something to get and keep my knitting stuff organized. Maybe add a knitting room...

Windfall, mmmm. I think I will go on a much deserved vacation. I am organizing my knitting/crochet/sewing/multifunction room. Being just plain lazy and soaking up the sun would be nice.
