Good Afternoon,

Last night when I turned out the lights for the evening, my Basic Lesson 1 swatches (all 5) were all finished and ready to be tagged.

This morning either the first swatch or the book instructions have been changed since I turned out the lights last evening.

I feel like the tailor of Gloucester. I know my ribbibg was two inches long last evening when I turned out the lights.

Yet this morning I measured the ribbing again to make sure all was correct and to my dismay the ribbing on swatch 1 is only one inch.

Now the book clearly says 2 inch ribbibg which I marked in yellow highlighter. Who could have changed the ribbing during the night?

I think maybe I should feed my two cats less so they might be more interested in visitors during the evening.

Knitting another swatch 1,

David

David, I know what you mean. Yesterday 17 inches times 5 stitches per inch was 75 stitches, but this morning the math had changed--the same calculation was 85 stitches. So I had to redo the ribbing in my own project.

Clearly there are cosmic forces at work.

For this course, don't worry about the swatches being a little long or short. I focus primarily on techniques. In the Masters program measurements are a big deal.
