A word about accurate measuring for gauge. When you measure the width of a swatch, don't include the first or last stitches in the measurement (or in the stitch count you use for your calculcations). When you are measuring the length, don't include the cast on edge or the bind off row.

When you put a border around a stitch pattern, don't include the border stitches in the measurement or stitch count.
