If anyone can help me I would be very grateful. I am trying to knit a baby's loopy cardigan but the loops do not seem to be very secure. if I pull th eloops they unravel! This is the first time I have struggled with a pttern to the extent that I am having nightmares. I am desperate to make my daughter in law happy and make this for my grandaughter's first birhday. PLease can anyone help me?

Perhaps you could share the instructions you have on how to create this loop stitch and someone might be able to explain if something is incomplete.

Hi,

I don't mean to sound rude but is there a reason she can not knit the item she wants for her daughter! I love non-knitters who think we knitters can all just make or follow some pattern that might be less than perfect.

I would post some of the directions here and see if we all might be able to help out. Usually there is someone that can get you going in the right direction.

Do you have link to a photo of this item you could post?

Hang in there . . .

Hi, sharanann. Welcome to the board!

There are several ways to make loops in knit-fabric, most involve looping the working yarn multiple times around the needle or around a finger. You then catch one, but not all, of the multiple loops when you come back on the next row. I've made some that get loose at the base, but none that actually unravel, as you describe.

What do your directions say to do?
Please respond -- we would like to help you if we can -- so that you can enjoy your knitting again!
