Please share with me the instructions for a 7 st back cable. I believe the instructions were typed in error in my pattern. It states the following, "Sl 4 sts to cn and hold to the back of work. Sl last st from cn to LH needle and K. K3 from cn." This does not seem right???? Thanks for all your help in advance.

There are a number of variations for this cable.

I think yours should read:

Slip 4 stitches on to the cable needle and hold at the back of the work.. Knit the next 3 stitches from the LH needle. Slip last st from the cn back to the LH needle and K. K3 from cn.

The instruction I have italicised seems to be the essential bit that's missing. I hope that helps.
