I am working on a pattern from the newest Cast On Mag called Faux Fair Isle Vest and it tells me to work to 10in from beg of shaping ending with a ws row. Then it says "PMS" for back neck to ea side of center 56 st. BO all sts. I don't understand the "PMS" Can someone please help me.

PM usually stands for Place Marker and from the description, it sounds as if you are being instructed to mark-off the center 56 stitches.

You might look at the back of the magazine for a list of abbreviations if you don't find it in the pattern itself.

Thank you. Now it makes sense. I need to place markers to mark off the neck stitches and bind off all the stitches. This makes it easier to find them when I join the fronts to the back and pick up the stitches for the edging.

Seems easier now that it is explained better.
