Speaking of cooking mysteries, try Diane Mott Davidson starting with The Cereal Murders and I think the latest is Sweet Revenge. There is a recipe for Bleak House Bars, a dumb name. They are even better than Sex in A Pan a recipe from The Bachelor Brothers Bed and Breakfast. That's another fun read, not a mystery

I love her books! I've listened to a lot of them on cassette or CD's. The recipes sound so good.

Back from Portland and spent way too much time in Powell's. I finished my first Monica Ferris and really enjoyed it and managed to pick up several other of the authors that have been mentioned. I also bought enough organic wool yarn for another sweater. Knit/Purl is about a block the other way from our hotel. The yarn was on sale and the books are used, but there still was probably no excuse for buying either of them. I couldn't find a folding book rack at Powell's or I might have finished another book. Oh well.

My favorite book holder open thingy looks like a four toothed comb. It has had interested look see's from airport guys, courtroom guys and the ER security guy who can recognise me by face and knows I am harmless. It sits with my knitting essential equipment.
It saved my heiny in several classes because the only way I could possibly survive reading some of the texts I had to read was by knitting along with them. It beats balancing the book on your knees and using your ( ahem) menopot to hold the pages open. Happy reading. You might investigate the Gabriel Du Pre series written wonderfully by Peter Bowen. They are worth reading over every few years. Dances |
