help already!!! it's not bad enough that there are yarn sales that make me hungry!! (what?)
but now book sales?? how many knitting books does a person really need? maybe it's retail therapy because i got discouraged trying to make something new and so sure! buy books and yarn and i'll feel better!! yup. that makes a lot of sense i had dreams of making things for the holidays and a list of other items i wanted to make for certain people but have i crossed anything off? one or two..my knitting ambition is on the rocks! help!!! Well!!!
I know I have an awful lot of books as well! Part of the reason I have so many books is that when I lived overseas I had no one to ask for help. So I justified all my books as the only way I could figure things out! Soooooooooo now I live in a place where we all speak English and I have knitting friends and well----I still buy books!!!! I am more picky now! Nice photos just won't do it for me any more! Nancy Knitski on Ravelry |

What a time to get the knitting blues, when you are on the verge of the gift knitting whirlpool from hades if you go that way.
Every once in a while I find a whole bunch of things on my knitting/gift list that I plain don't wanna. (I tried to knit a pair of socks with yarn that depressed me it was so ugly once...) My solution is to scrap that particular list,/ project/yarn and develop a list of housecleaning so repellent that any knitting looks good. Due to school, work and family responsibilitys most of everyone on my gift list is getting yarn and promises instead of finished objects. As far as the knitting books go. as an instead, try the library and interlibrary loan, you can read it and decide if it is worth spending money on. This has saved me many many many dollars. I also found that you can take your keeper books to a Kinko's and for a very nominal fee they will unpage, and spiral bind them. Dances |

I have just started on a lace scarf for my DMIL. My first into into lace knitting. After pulling the yarn off of the needles with expletives deleted for the 6th time, everything clicked the 7th time.
We also just moved. The stash is in unlocated boxes and I can't find my books, either More frustration now than the blues but I have had the blues at times, too. I am going to Indiana this weekend to visit my middle son who is a freshman in college. I am taking a recently finished scarf to him in school colors: old rose(which is really crimson)/black/off white. I believe that he is just beginning to see how cold it might be...I hope he will wear the scarf. It is knit in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino (black)and Lambs Pride Superwash 100% wool (crimson and off white). It will be much colder for him there than back home in Alabama. One project (or two or three or four) at a time. Bill |

I love the library!!! In WI the interlibrary loan system is great. It includes the University libraries and the branches around the state. Believe me i have used them
If only i had some ambition to knit something. I am in a funk..I did break down and order some knitting books I NEEDED Then there's the yarn sales problem. I could easily talk myself into a truckload, you know? but then what? I need to make a list of things i want to make or ideas and then check my stash!! I wish I had more patience with figuring out how to make patterns work for me. I never could figure out how to make a slip stitch work the way i knit (left handed in my right mind We should all book a knitting cruise!!! bring our stashes and either exchange them or you know what Mice |
