I just finished a sweater for AfghansforAfghans and realized while i was sewing, that i have not made a sweater in a very long time, and that i am still the worst seamstress on the planet I am doing the best i can, and thankfully the yarn is bulky so i does cover up a multitude of sins (well, so to speak )
I am slowly using up my stash, which includes some Lite Lopi that i bought a long time ago and now i'm thinking it might make a nice vest..
It seems kind of scratchy, but i'm hoping that after washing, it softens.
I have a request though for anyone interested, or perhaps you already know? Check out the American Express Members Project. They are accepting nominations for projects that will receive 2.5 million dollars in funding. Voting begins on Sept. 9th. so there is not much more time. There are so many compelling and important projects that need funding, so i know that it's mostly a matter of what is closest to your heart..my personal hope is that some of the funding will go towards research to cure Fragile X and autism. For the latest on FragileX and it's relation to autism, check out the FRAXA.org website as well. Clinical trials are now in Phase II which is more hope than many of us thought we would see in our lifetimes.
