Hi y'all,
I know there are Dragon Scale stitches out there already. And I'm sure I haven't found them all. I'm trying to come up with a Dragon Scale Stitch pattern that doesn't have any Lace like YO's nor the seemingly obligatory vertical stripe of 2 to 4 knit stitches. It needs to be "manly" and not at all like a lace or mermaid scale. And, just to add that extra level of difficulty, how about if it knits from top down instead of bottom up. Is that asking too much?

If you find a pattern you like except that it seems too lacy, try substituting a regular increase for the yarn overs. The yarn over is simply a decorative open increase so if you were to do another, more closed increase you may get the effect you want without the lacy appearance.
