I want to make the felted beret from the Vogue Knitting Felting on the Go book. The yarns, Berroco Pleasure (66% angora, 29% merino, 5% nylon) and Berroco Classic Mohair Heather (78% mohair, 13% wool, 9% nylon) are both discontinued. Has anyone made this beret or can anyone suggest alternative yarns? I've just spent so much time trying to find similar yarns that my head is spinning...so much yarn to choose from!

First, find a yarn that will give you the same gauge. Yes, you'll make yourself dizzy looking at all the yarn! Bring the pattern to your LYS and ask someone who works there to help.

Then make sure you buy the same length/yardage as required by the pattern, just so you don't run out.

Finally, make sure you're knitting to gauge, and you should be fine!
