Has anyone done this? I am having trouble understanding the 4th through the 7th rows in the pattern. Help!!

If you could post the pattern stitch directions, someone here will no doubt help you out. It's always possible that you are doing nothing wrong, the directions might not be good ones. It happens. But if they are correct, then someone could guide you.

ok. here is the pattern:
1st row: knit
2nd row:P1, Sl1P, repeat
3rd row: K2, *Sl1, K1, repeat from * to end, K1
4th thru 7th rows: beg with a knit row, work in stocking st, Rep 2nd to 7th rows for 5 ins, then 2nd and 3rd rows once
next row: Knit. Cast off knitwise.

So, I am having trouble with rows 4 thru 7. Can anyone help put this in terms I can understand?

If you're knitting flat,
Knit row 4
Purl row 5
Knit row 6
Purl row 7.
Work rows 2 thru 7 again, and continue to repeat these 6 rows for 5 inches. Then repeat rows 2 and 3 once more.
Now knit one row, and then bind off.

(If you're knitting in the round, rows 4 thru 7 above should all be knit rows.)
