I have run into an abbreviation I have never seen before. I am working on the "Faux Fair Isle" vest in the newest Cast on Mag. The back ends with "from beg of shaping, ending with a WS row row. PMS for back neck to ea side of center. Please what is the PMS?

Place markers. that might be a typo, I set it in my patterns as pm's. they want you to put a marker on each side of the center stitch.

I think PMS is the plural of PM.

I have to tell you I am still laughing about the PMS notation in CAST ON, not the questioner.

It's pretty funny when you think of how Cast On worded that sentence.

I have to admit I got a chuckle out of the PMS as well!

Could it mean "have a hot flash and a fit"?

Louise, possibly not a hot flash but night sweats?

*giggle, giggle*
