This probably needs to be answered by Arenda Holliday. I finished my hat, but don't have enough yarn for the tassel or pompom! I used several different brands of yarn for my swatches and have odds and ends left over. I'd hate to buy another 100g just to finish the hat, but I will if necessary. Thanks

I'm pretty sure this problem has been addressed before, and I think that you may not be required to put anything on top. Just include a note with the hat that explains why you didn't.

To know for sure if this was talked about before, just click on the "find" button above your post and type in "hat" and click search. You will no doubt get lots of hits, but one of those should have your answer.

Do you have enough yarn to graft the top shut rather than pulling the tail through the live sts? My understanding is that the decorative bit is to hide that circle of pulled-tight sts. I don't like pom poms and tassels, etc., so I asked if I could graft the top shut instead, and was told it was okay, and to just include a note about what I did, and why. My hat was accepted.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look at other posts. I'm still finishing my reports and putting together everything, so I have plenty to do in the meantime.
