I have been using cascade 220 for all of my swatches and mostly the color of 8010 - creame..I did my increases/decreases swatches in baby pink of cascade 220...will this be a problem for the committee? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the light color worsted weight yarn needed to be part of the 'ecru' family, but it didn't state that in my instructions. Can someone please clarify this??? Thanks in advance!!! Roll Eyes

Forget the "ecru" caution--there are no rules that are not included in your instructions.

My swatches were mostly in cream or white, but several were in light pink, yellow, light blue, orange....

The instructions stated that you could use "any light-colored worsted weight yarn, unless otherwise indicated" or words close to that. It was stated in the general directions before the swatch directions. So any yarn that is light in color is acceptable. There was actually an article in Cast On a while ago discussing this same concern. I printed a copy of all the past articles and put them in a notebook. You'll find them in another area of this website, in the Master's Area (I think that's the correct title, I don't go to much of the rest of this website much). You need to use the password that should have come with your instructions to access the area.
