Hi,
Is it ok to use lace weight yarn (weight symbol 0 in the Standards & Guidelines)? The instruction notes (pg. 9) state that fine or superfine should be used, which would correlate with weight symbols 2 & 1, respectively. If its not ok for me to use this weight, can I double strand my lace weight (symbol 0) yarn for use in the lace swatches? |

To spare the eye-sight of the volunteer committee members who review the submissions, I suggest using the fingering weight yarn for the swatches. You would probably attain this width by doubling your lace-weight yarn but I would recommend against this, too. Yarn worked doubled has some affect on the overall appearance of the stitches.
Is it a matter of cost or using stash that has you contemplating lace-weight? |

I have a really nice lace weight yarn in my stash that I wanted to use. But that's ok - I'll use one of the recommended weights.
Thanks, Elisa |

I'll chime in here to second KT.
Sport or fingering are definitely the way to go. Fewer repeats will fit into your required size, though, so you'll need to take that into consideration. Go, superkitty!
