Has anyone any information on companys who need hand knitters??? There are 3 of us who would love to have something to knit in the evenings, all our kids are grown and no longer need us to knit for them. Maze

I joined Project Linus right after 9/11. I looked it up and there are 6 chapters in Iowa. Check out projectlinus.org. Then go into Chapter Listings, All States. Click on your state and it will come up with the people and locations. They meet once a month to sew on labels. Not everyone sews on labels, some go to talk and some do whatever project they're working on. The slow months are the summer months and the busy months are usually around the Christmas holidays.

All they ask is that all blankets are handmade. These blankets are then delivered to sick children in hospitals. The age range is from preeme to age 16. They don't care what size or when they're completed. They're always looking for new members and it's a satisfying feeling to know that you're helping children.

My girlfriend, her mother, and I all joined at the same time.
